The Egolf Tour hosted its 10th tournament of the year today at Oakhaven Golf Course in Delaware, Ohio. The threat of rain all day didn’t stop 26 players coming out to try to gain some much needed points going into the last three events. With the course playing soft and greens in great shape, players were going right at the pins.
The Champ flight saw the season long points leader Jeff Maier grab another victory today. Jeff played solid all day, hitting fairways and greens. His two birdies and an eagle on the par 5 first hole helped him shoot a 75, on a very demanding course.
A flight was the second biggest flight of the day, with the top players trying to catch up to the points leader (Mike Bilderback). Kyle Gardner emerges with his first victory of the year, firing a solid 79. Eric Croker and Jared Minor both shoot 81, but the scorecard playoff for second place goes to Jared.
The B flight was very competitive all day. Bob Ubbing ran away from the field with his impressive round of 78. Another tie for second place with Dennis Henderson and Jacob Bridges both shooting 82. Scorecard playoff goes to Dennis. The B flight points race has been one of the closest all year, and with a major coming up the players will try to separate themselves.
The story of the day was in C flight. It was once again the biggest flight of the day with 11 players. With a large group of the players bunched up at the top, it was Zavier Neeley and Bill Sluka both shooting great rounds of 83 to go into a playoff on the course. It took two holes to decide the winner, and that was Zavier. His first victory of the year comes at a great time, helping him to move up towards the points leader. Rounding out the top three was Corey Skinner with a round of 84.
The D flight saw two players battle it out today. Scott Allen takes home the top spot with a solid round of 95. William Gilstrap comes in second.
Congratulations to all the flight winners today! The next event is a two day major at Little Turtle and Phoenix Golf Links September 11-12th. 900 points are up for grabs, and we only have three tournaments left. Sign up today so I can reserve a spot for you.
