Scoot Wood & Melvin Harrington - "C" Flight Winners
A beautiful day for golf and consistent play helps our flight winners get wins. Granville Golf Course is one of Ohio’s finest golf courses. Beautiful layout with challenging greens makes this one tough course. The Columbus tour golfers were up to the challenge.
In the Championship Flight, Troy Boswell broke through with a solid round of 74 to take home the top spot today. Troy’s consistent play was solid enough to hold off Mr. Consistent himself, John Fryman. Fryman came in after his round with a score of 76 on the day. Rounding out the top three was Tim Ford with his round of 78.
In the A Flight Jared Minor, who is always near the top of the leader board, was able to crack the top spot. With a front score of 39 and a back nine score of 41, Jared’s round of 80 was steady enough to edge out Pete Koumas and his round of 81. Todd Coil came in third with a round of 83.
The B Flight saw a familiar face taking home the trophy today. Eric Croker puts together a round of 79 to claim yet another victory. New to the B flight was Buddy McBride, who grabbed second place from Dennis Henderson, today.
The C Flight had a fight clear to the end. Scott Wood, 88, was able to edge out Melvin Harrington, 89, to win the flight today. Both golfers were going back and forth all day and Scott was standing tall after the 18th hole. Egbert Powell and Keith Weaver finished tied for third.
The D Flight saw Phillip Petitti make it a three-peat today. Petitti claims his third win in a row on the young season. Zachary Davis was chasing him down all day, but came up one stroke short. Steven Root finishes third while William Gilstrap comes in fourth.
Congratulations to all the winners today!
Our next tournament will be June 13th and it will take place at the Brass Ring Golf Club in Logan, Ohio. There are plenty of spots available so sign up now!
