Now there’s an Amateur Golf Tour made just for you! From the competition to the camaraderie, the mission of the Egolf Amateur Tour is to provide amateur golfers, a professionally organized format in order to compete at the highest possible level. The foundation of the Tour was based on amateur golfer’s overwhelming desire for a stage in order to truly compete against their peers. No best-ball or scrambles. Only 18 hole stroke play tournaments. What is the Egolf Amateur Tour? Entering its fifteenth season, the purpose of the Tour is to conduct stroke-play golf tournaments for golfers of all ages and handicaps. Through this competition, the Egolf Tour promotes the sport of golf by providing an atmosphere of friendly, fair and well managed competition for amateur golfers in the pursuit of excellence. Why should I play? Our tournaments are held at the best courses in each city. All tournaments are played by USGA rules and handicaps are tracked on each player to ensure the integrity of each flight. The competition allows members to play under pressure just like the Pros. What are the handicap breakdowns for each flight? Championship Flight- 0-5.9 Handicap, “A” Flight- 6.0 to 9.9 Handicap, “B” Flight- 10.0 to 14.9 Handicap, “C” Flight- 15.0 to 20.0 Handicap and “D” Flight- 20.1 and above Handicap. What do I win? Based on the size of the tournament, VISA gift cards are awarded to the top 3 players in each flight. Crystal trophies are awarded to the first place winner at each tournament. We also have a close to the pins and skins game at each tournament. What does it cost to join the Tour? The Egolf Amateur Tour Membership is $70.00 per year if paid before the first tournament. After the first tournament, the fee is $75.00. Tournament entry fees range from $65.00 to $100.00 based on the golf course. All entry fees are posted on our website. What if I do not have a handicap card? Call the Tour Director (864-425-2106) and they will access your level based on your most recent scores. Once you have been placed into a flight, your tournament scores and handicap index are posted on the web page. How many tournaments do I have to play in? Play in as many or as few as you would like to. The tour does not require any set amount of tournaments, but to qualify for the Tour Championship you will need to play more often. All tournaments are played on the weekends. What is the deadline to join the tour? You can join the tour anytime during the season. If I join my local tour can I play events in other cities? Yes, that is one of the great perks of joining the tour, it allows you to register and play in any tournament in the country! 2009 Columbus Egolf Amateur Tour Tournament Schedule April 18 - Phoenix Golf Links May 2 - Cook's Creek (2009 Masters) May 23 - Westchester GC May 30 - Granville CC June 13 - Brass Ring GC June 27 - Clover Valley GC (2009 US Open) July 11 - Darby Creek GC July 25 - Golf Club of Dublin August 8 - Northstar Resort (2009 British Open) August 15 - Eagle Sticks August 29 - Apple Valley GC September 12- Little Turtle GC (2009 PGA Championship) September 26 - Players Club at Foxfire October 10 -11 - Tartan East GC (2009 Ohio Championship) 2009 National Championship will be on October 24-25 at Hilton Head, SC Call (864) 491-0129 And Get Your 2009 Tour Card Today!
