Season Begins With Some Great Scores!

The Columbus Tour got their season started today at Phoenix Golf Links in Grove City. The weather was beautiful, the temperature was perfect and the course was in good condition. A total of 47 golfers took to the course ready to get the season started.
The Championship flight saw some familiar names on the board and a lot of new ones. A total of nine players competed to take home the first trophy of the season. Patrick McConville was the flight winner with a solid round of 76. Right behind him in second place was a familiar face, John Fryman and his round of 77. New comer Ryan Troup rounds out the top three with a 78.
The A flight saw two newcomers take home the top two spots. Long hitting James Dunn shot a dead even round of 72 to take home the top spot. Solid play by Chris Lange netted him a round of 73 to take home second place. Right behind them was Pete Koumas and his round of 74. The A flight saw solid play from all 15 players with scores ranging from 72 to 89.
The B flight saw some familiar names atop its leader board. Billy Chang takes home the top spot with a round of 81. Eric Croker comes in second with a nice round of 85 while Angel Padilla rounds out the top three with a round of 86.
The C flight saw Buddy McBride go low with a round of 80. Buddy was solid in every aspect of the game today and was able to put together a terrific round and take home the first place trophy. Coming in second was Raymond Chamberglain with an 85 and Egbert Powell rounds out the top three with a round of 88.
The D flight also had a few new faces and three of them claimed the top three spots. Zachary Davis shot a 95 to take home the top spot. Charlie Hoskins put together a round of 99 to claim second place. Rounding out the top three was Steven Root.
In other action today, Angel Padilla won the Rife putter and Keith Weaver won the Bolle sunglasses for donating the most balls.
