With the threat of rain on the horizon, 26 golfers took to the course in hopes of getting in 18 before the rain hit. We were unsuccessful in our attempts. Just as the last group made the turn the rains hit and hit hard. With a tornado warning in effect until 5pm, we had no choice but to shorten the tournament to a 9-hole event.
The Championship flight consisted of three golfers, John Fryman, Jeff Maier and Jason Davis. Coming in first place was John Fryman who edged out Jeff Maier to take home the top spot. John continues his hot streak by winning his third event of the year.
The A flight was the biggest flight on the day with nine golfers battling it out for the trophy and points. Taking home the top spot was Jim Sellers with his 39 on the day. Coming in second was Mike Bilderback who won a scorecard playoff with James Swantko. Both players had 44’s on the day.
The B flight saw Richard Smialek win his second straight event. Smialek posted a 41 on the day to beat out Bruce Berdine and his 45. Rounding out the top three was Brad Herpolsheimer with his score of 46.
The C flight saw five golfers take on the course. Keith Weaver was able to hold off Dan Workman and Jacob Bridges to capture his second win in a row. Weaver posted a 42 on the day while Workman and Bridges each posted a 44. Workman beat out Bridges on a scorecard playoff to take home second place.
The D flight saw Scott Allen capture the top spot with a 52. Scott was able to hold off Kevin Brown (56) and William Gilstrap (58) to capture the trophy.
