Perfect Day For Golf Produces Good Scores

On an absolutely perfect day for golf, a group of Columbus golfers took to the course. Northstar Golf Resort played host to the 2009 British Open for the Columbus golfers. A beautiful course with great fairways, amazing greens and some challenging holes. Patience was the name of the game today.
The Championship flight saw all four golfers finish in the 70’s today. Hyo-Seung Lee carded a 74 to take home the top spot. Tim Ford shot a 75 to take home second place. Sunny Kang and his 76 was good enough for third while Zach Sebert’s 78 rounded out the Champ flight scores.
The A flight saw scores ranging from 82 to 92 today. Firing 82’s on the day was Pete Koumas and Sang-Youl Woo. The golfers headed out for a playoff. The playoff lasted two holes before Pete Koumas was able to secure the first place trophy. Steve Lawrence fired an 83 on the day to take home third place.
The B flight saw Dennis Henderson go low to claim the first place trophy. Henderson walked off 18 green with a score on 78 on the day and winning the B flight by 14 strokes. Not only did Dennis win the flight, he also won all the skin money for B flight and the closest to the pin pot. Congratulations Dennis on a great day of golf.
The C flight had a wide range of scores as well with scores ranging from 84 to 103 today. In the end Egbert Powell walks off the course with the first place trophy and establishing himself as the man to beat in the C flight. Coming in second was You Cui. Rounding out the top three was Keith Weaver and Philip Pettiti.
The D flight was won by Eric Gabriel. This is Eric’s second win in a row. Eric also won one skin and the closest to the pin pot. Coming in second for the D flight was William Gilstrap.
