Hyo-Seung Lee and Bill Esch- Championship Flight Winners
The rains came in on Friday night and absolutely soaked Apple Valley Golf Club. A cool and cloudy Saturday morning didn’t help dry out the course for the Columbus golfers. The weather did keep a lot of golfers away but 16 brave souls took to the course anyway. All determined to play golf, have fun and rack up some points and trophies.
The Championship flight only had two players competing for the trophy today. Bill Esch and Hyo-seung Lee took to the course ready to do battle. At the end of the day Bill was able to hold off Lee with a score of 76, four better than his opponent. Bill also won the closest to the pin today. Congrats to both players.
The A flight only consisted of three players today. Jared “I know I look good†Minor played a solid round to shoot a 77 on the day. Jared just played consistent today with very few mistakes. Coming in second was Erin Packard (84) and following him was John Winters (87). Nice round Jared and congrats on win number two.
Four players made up the B flight today. Dennis Henderson, who has been on a hot streak as of late, was able to hold off hard charging John Ward to capture another win. Henderson’s 82 was just enough to edge out the 83 posted by John Ward. Buddy McBride comes in third while Angel Padilla finishes fourth. Dennis also won one skin while John captured two. Angel won the closest to the pin.
The biggest flight of the day, with six golfers, was the C flight. Cui You was able to take home his second trophy of the year by edging out Gary Andrews 87 to 88. Howard Pavlofsky rounds out the top three with a round of 92. Keith Weaver comes in fourth (93) and Zavier Neeley completes the C flight with a round of 99. Gary Andrews also won the closest to the pin.
The smallest flight of the day was the D flight. William Gilstrap is one of three golfers who have not missed a tournament yet this year. William is always smiling and having a great time on the golf course, no matter who he is playing with. This is William’s second win of the season and this win widens the gap between him and the rest of the D flighters for that season long points total.
Congratulations to all the winners today. We also send out a big thank you to all the golfers who showed up today to play. We understand that the times are tough and it’s hard to get out and play every two weeks. So thank you from the Weaver’s and hope to see everyone at Little Turtle. Remember that is a 1:30 pm start time.
